Great to be able to rekindle acquaintances with members and wives who we have not seen for some time, even the “serial pest" was on his very best for the night.Great to see Harry Aust join us, still looking for that elusive photo of the dashboard of his racing TC special, pity Google earth was not about in the 60’s.Thankyou to Peter & Bronwyn for a great supper, hot fire and heaps of seats in the shed. The big toys had been moved out to accommodate the enthralled members of which 37 signed in with 13 T Types and 1 Y Saloon together with other MG cars of later and more comfortable vintage.I had booked the dining room for 35, added another 5ish in the afternoon 61 actually arrived, seats at tables were eagerly taken up by early comers. Were received from Colin Whyatt, Ian Buckley, Gordon Brice, Brian Forth, Maurice Linehan, Ron Jellett, Simon Ewart.
Arthur and Bazzica are off to Yamba with the ND & J2 for the MMM rally, photos by Terry Wright of Arthur’s ND at Collingrove Hill climb were on display, Terry actually got a ride with Arthur up the hill, how exciting for 007.
They are keen to entertain the Register at their cellar door sometime, I think that they were overcome by the size of the roll out of cars in the carpark and the buzz in the room.
I had no complaints from anyone on the food and service, thankyou for being so patient, it was a fun night for sure.
A small donation is payable towards supper upon arrival.
